ABOUT
David Oswald lives with his family in Los Angeles, California where he has worked as a photographer for over 30 years – specializing in fashion, glamour, beauty, portrait, and landscape photography for the advertising, editorial, and retail markets. He is also a highly skilled photo retoucher and restoration artist.
After graduating from Rosemead High School in 1978, where his elective courses included photography and art, David continued studies in photography at Pasadena City College and the Newport School of Photography.
Shortly after graduating from high school in June 1978, David landed his first professional photography job with World Imports, photographing wicker products for their catalog. During that same year, he interned as an assistant for photographer Jerry Smith. The following year, David entered a partnership and shared a photo studio in Alhambra with another photographer. The partnership was mutually dissolved one year later, leaving David to continue with the studio through 1983. Two other studios were operated in Westwood (1985) and Glendale (d.b.a., Glendale Photo 1988-1990). As a photo assistant member of APA (Advertising Photographers of America), 1983 - 1988, David assisted for photographer Lee White (1984 - 1985).
Today, David works from his home studio and on location. Local studio rentals are hired when his assignments require more space. David follows the ASMP code of ethics.
